Frankly, before this book I knew nothing about tennis, now I know a little about tennis but I also know I love this book. Taylor Jenkins Reid found a way to make 10-15 page descriptions of tennis matches to be enthralling and page-turning. I have absolutely no idea how she did that, but it just goes to show how great of a writer she is. Carrie Soto just like the other “Mick Riva-verse” women before her has clawed her way into my heart as a remarkable character and one of a kind. I instantly knew I’d love The Battle Axe; her ambition, attitude, determination and stubbornness. TJR has done it again, she can make anything so gripping and entertaining. I was absolutely excited and was not disappointed in the slightest. What a delight, to read this book. Sad to see this is officially the end of the “Mick Riva-verse” but what a way to go!
