Really not my favourite Murakami book, which is a shame since he is one of my favourite authors. Often the misogyny in his work can be attributed to the flaws of the characters, but referring to the sole female character, who is instrumental to the plot and keeps the protagonist alive, as “the chubby girl” was disappointing.
