The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling

3.0

I never realized that this was a collection of stories rather than a continuous narrative. I enjoyed these stories for the most part-the ones I enjoyed were 4 stars, and the ones I didn't were more like 2. Mowgli and his adventures were great, and I loved the story of Rikki-Tikki Tavi, but some of the others I could have done without. My biggest gripe was when Man entered the story, things got violent and generally the animals had a rough go of it-something I generally don't handle very well.

I recommend this book to young readers as well as experienced readers, these stories are diverting and generally a pretty light read.
