Anne Frank by Isabel Thomas

4.0

„Little Guides to Great Lives: Anne Frank“ is an illustrated book about the life of Anne Frank during World War II.

The illustrations in this book are beautiful, I loved the style and the colors.
The language is simple and appropriate for children. There’s also a glossary with explanations for some of the more difficult words / expressions that kids might not know yet (e.g. Allied forces, D-Day landings,...). There’s no sugarcoating about the horrors of the war, which is something I’m glad about, but I’d be cautious about giving this book to kids that are very young.
A timeline at the end of the book sums up the most important events of Anne‘s life and the war.

This book is probably one of the best children’s books I’ve read lately and I highly recommend it.
Now I’m looking forward to reading more books from this series.
