The Sweetest Remedy by Jane Igharo
lighthearted
medium-paced
3.75
This was an easy, lighthearted romance with the added interest of being primarily set in Nigeria. I appreciated learning about Nigerian culture through Hannah and her new experiences. Overall though, it was just an okay book. Interpersonal issues were wrapped up too quickly and cleanly. And a few of the relationships in the book were unconventional in a way that could make some people uncomfortable - including a relationship between an older man and a woman who he had known since childhood. Strictly speaking nothing untoward had taken place and the strangeness of the relationship(s) are addressed to varying degrees, but I can see others having an issue with it. All in all, it's a pleasant vacation read if you're into books about romance and family drama.
