The Angel Experiment by James Patterson
5.0
This book was so good. I love re-reading novels. I'll have a review up once I have one up on the blog. :)

Our protagonist in this novel is Max, who is 14 years old and just happens to have wings. Max isn't the only one with wings though. She lives with 5 others which she calls her "flock."
She and the rest of the flock were all held captive at the School for most of their lives. They were left in cages and barely had any food. They were pretty much lab rats that were used for experimenting.
One day, one of the evil scientists, Jeb, took the six kids of the flock and escaped from the School. They stayed at this little house on a cliff for a few years until Jeb disappeared. Max has been in charge of the flock ever since. She's the reason that they are still alive.
One day, Angel is taken away from the flock by Erasers. Erasers are these mean werewolf-like creatures that work for the School. Because of this, the flock decides to find Angel. The story takes off after that decision is made.
My favorite thing about this novel would have to be the characters. They are just so original and unique. They were all quite funny as well. I think I'll just have to write about each one!
Angel Yes, I think I should start with Angel. Angel is the baby of the flock. She's only six, but she definitely doesn't act like a six-year-old should. She's pretty smart and she has the most powers out of any of the flock members. The only power that you know about from the start is her ability to read minds. Trust me, there's more to come. Max calls Angel her "baby" since she's been in charge of her since Angel was only four. Angel and Max seem to have a special connection.
Fang Fang is my favorite character. He's just so mysterious and honest. If something bad happens, he doesn't try to tell you that it's going to be okay. He kind of just tells you like it is. He is Max's second in command. He is the second oldest, but most people find it strange that he lets Max, a girl, run the flock when he could. Fang definitely has a crush on Max. I don't think that she even sees it yet though. Fang has no special powers, unlike the rest of the flock members.
Max Max is seriously awesome. She even NAMED HERSELF. That's how awesome she is. Max seems to always be cool, calm, and collected. I could not be those three things in any of the situations that she's been in. She is also really nice. Even when people annoy her, she doesn't usually snap at them. Max is quite hilarious. She seems to always have some sort of witty comeback to whatever you have to say to her. She does everything she can to protect the flock. No matter what, she is always thinking of people other than herself, which she should do sometimes.
Gasman or "Gazzy" Yes, that is his name, and with reason. He's quite 'explosive'. Gazzy is Angel's older brother. They are the only two members of the flock that are actually related by blood. He can copy anything that someone says and sound just like the person who said it. It's amazing. I could definitely see that power coming in handy!
Iggy Iggy is the same age as both Fang and Max, but he is the youngest 14-year-old. He is blind from an experiment that went wrong while he was held captive at the School. The strange thing is that he can build explosives and can cook extremely well. He can also map out what's around him.
Nudge Nudge is very talkative. It's pretty hard to make her stop talking. She's very kind and is pretty much Angel's best friend. She doesn't have any powers, unless you consider non-stop talking a power.
This novel was a little slow at times, but I just kept reading because the characters are so enjoyable! I can't wait to re-read the rest of the series.
If you like adventure novels, you should really read this book! I'd recommend it to readers who aren't that much into fantasy as well. I felt like it was more action-adventure-like than fantasy-like.
