Idk there were moments of the book that were really interesting and good like with Kennedy using an issue where a company wanted to use her being a Black woman to develop a whole company which is great! On the other hand, I questioned throughout the whole book why she created a whole company dedicated to solving rich white people's issues by doing photoshoots to show diversity in the company using people who were not apart of the company. Why should a Black woman have to fix their issues? I do get that it was helpful to POCs in helping them to get a job at companies that may not typically hire POCs due to policies that are reinforced on on purpose or not. But from looking at both of those does that good cancel out the bad?The love story between Nate and Kennedy was cute but meh at the same time.
Oh wait and also when the emails from the company Kennedy originally worked at were leaked why were the other companies that Token was contracted out to turning down her services and taking a pause? It wasn't Kennedy's fault, so that connection made no sense...
Idk it was an ok book that seemed to drag on for a while but then randomly picked up and got interesting then fell off again. Lol this cycle continued throughout the book, but I heard so much good stuff about it I continued on lol.
