Ok I’m going to be honest...
I had to read this book for school which I was not excited about to begin with. I love fantasy mostly and this book was just dreadful for me. I’m was so slow all the way through and I can’t remember one time I was actually excited to pick it up or keep reading. I didn’t actually finish the book but I know what happens in the end and I feel like the ending was overhyped and everyone said it was the best part of the book but I couldn’t force myself to keep reading. The fact that the story was told by Scout who was a six year old kid made it even worse. She was so annoying and she couldn’t keep herself out of trouble. My English teacher even told us he hasn’t had a student say they didn’t like this book but sadly I was one of the ones who didn’t like it. Overall I feel like it was a good book for people who enjoy stories that take place in a small town where nothing happens but I am definitely not one of those people.
