The 3 stars is probably being generous considering I slogged my way through this, but it had its humorous moments in between all the fog and overbearing Christianity. Still awaiting the day someone recognizes the sheer stupid, situational irony between Jane and Rochester on film, but I guess to laugh at them would be to condone the mad woman in the attic? Idk. Jane Eyre is a Gothic Comedy is the hill I'll die on.

Jane's big speech to Rochester must've been a thing to behold in its original time, though. Oh to witness that original audience response....
