Crossroads by Garrett Leigh

4.0

Book 4 and the final book in the “Skin” series. “Crossroads” follows the events of the last 3 books and is easily the only book in the series where you’ll need to read the other 3 to get what’s going on. We circle back to having Angelo and Dylan as the main couple here, which is nice because Leigh rarely revisits the same couple in depth after their respective books end. Angelo is recovering from a bad encounter with his MS on Joe and Harry’s (“Whisper”) farm. Dylan arrives to celebrate Christmas with them, along with the couple from book 3 (“Believe”) Jevon and Rhys. Angelo is struggling with wanting to accept Harry’s over to work on the farm, which would require him to leave London where Dylan is and works. Most of this book is spent with the two agonizing over how to make that work for the both of them. Two interesting points to discuss with this book...and we’ll start with the one that left me a bit ✨uncomfy✨. Leigh is not one to shy away from the steam factor in her books and this one is no exception, I just feel like the BIG steamy scene at the end is not what any of the characters development have been leading to. I won’t say much more for the sake of spoilers (let’s be real, none of you will ever read this book) but it just felt...very odd. On the flip side, for the first time EVER in a Leigh book, we have a wedding! And it was so perfect for the couple in question my teeth hurt from how sweet it was! Overall, I think this was an interesting way to end this series and of course everyone has their happily ever after, there were just parts I found odd.
