By Grace and Banners Fallen: Prologue to A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson

4.0

The culmination of the Wheel of Time series delivers everything long-time fans have been craving in a final book. There's an abundance of sword fighting, lots of magic, and political machinations galore. Sanderson does a brilliant job of tying up the loose ends in the amazingly robust world that Jordan built.

I don't want to cover too much plot and risk spoiling, but the book covers the build up to and the details of the Last Battle. There are many unexpected outcomes, both good and bad, so even if you think you know how everything turns out, it's still well worth the read.

Some of the middle books in the series dragged a bit, but this one doesn't have that problem. In fact it moves along at almost too brisk a pace at times, but I found that I didn't miss the long descriptive passages as much as I would have thought.

This one earns four and a half very enthusiastic stars from me!
