This book has a great premise and by the end the world was a little more clear. This is very much a debut novel. I really enjoyed it more about half way through - I feel like like the characters had developed more at that point.

I did appreciate that the female main character did not have to choose between being herself and her love interest. The author avoided this trope in a deft way.
