Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

3.0

3.5. The wider fantasy bit of this - Elena and the ridderaks and the Wyrdmarks - I didn't really vibe with tbqh. Not that they didn't work, just that I.... didn't want them. There was already enough going on, by a lot. But the assassin/mercenaries/soldiers/thieves free-for-all was hella fun. I'm not super in to love tripods but this one was done well enough that I didn't find it too obnoxious, though I fell in love with Nehemia and Celaena's friendship more than any other relationship here. It left a lot to be desired when it came to Chaol and Dorian's "friendship," which was told to me rather than shown to me through the entirety of the book since they were barely ever together the way, say, friends might be.
