The Story of a New Name by Elena Ferrante

4.0

As much as I wanted to resist the hype, I really love these books. They're long; both books end in the middle of a climactic scene; there is a list of characters at the beginning of the book that I needed to keep consulting because I got confused; but none of those things bothered me as much as they normally would. I couldn't put this one down, and I will probably go out today and buy the next one. The characters just feel so real and intimate. During one part of the book, I was genuinely overwhelmed by how much I related to Elena.
