This was the sequel to This Dark Endeavour, which I really enjoyed. This book wasn't as good. I really do like the concept of setting up the Frankenstein story, but this book seemed a little too far-fetched even for that. Some parts were just plain weird. And I felt like it had some very negative vibes about religion. I couldn't bring myself to put it down, though; the story is really compelling, and I did overall like the book. 3.5 stars
