While this story doesn’t completely take place in Palestine, the upbringing and ways of life for a multi generation group of Arab women was emotionally heartbreaking to read. I wanted so much for Deya to be able to stand up and let her grandparents know that she had a choice. The ending felt a little too open ended ish but this is still a must read for anyone wanting more of an idea of what Arab women go through to maintain their reputation & the trials / tribulations of what it means to be a woman.
