I'm amazed at how quickly I've been devouring this trilogy. Military-focused stories are not my usual book fare, but this trilogy has been really doing it for me. Kuang manages to weave a tale that is both fast-paced, yet still digestible. I love the way she blends history and military strategy with fantasy elements and shamanistic magic. It's surprisingly engrossing. And I think that Rin as a main character is excellent; she pisses me off so much, but I want to see her win so badly.
