No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai
5.0
This book as for now is in my top 10 favorite books of all time.
I pulled an all-nighter just to finish it because I couldn’t physically bring myself to put the book down.
Just to write such a main character without sounding cliche or melodramatic at all throughout this book is a talent alone hardly attainable ever when a book is written in this dark context.
Keep in mind while you’re reading this book that it’s written by a man describing a man’s pattern of thought since childhood all the way to adulthood in the early 1900’s … so yeah … there is that triggering mentality to watch out for.
Make sure to not read this book if you’re in a dark place mentally in life right now. Also please read the trigger warnings before reading this book all in all.
