Keepers by Kenechi Udogu

4.0

I received Keepers by Kenechi Udogu in exchange for an honest review. I have given this book four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The last book in The Mentalist Series had me hooked from the very first chapter! I normally love the third book in a trilogy as it's when all of the action comes together and that's exactly what this book had to offer!
Throughout Keepers, the book is written from both perspectives of Gemma and Russ, which I thought worked really well. In Sentient, the second book of The Mentalist Series, I stated in my blog review that I would like to learn more about Russ and his life in the next book which is exactly what I received! Reading about Russ' thoughts and feelings was everything I needed and more! Again, I completely adored each scene I came across with Gemma and Russ in. There's just something about their relationship and the way they were with each other that had me rooting for them throughout the series.
I enjoyed learning about new characters that were introduced, especially Jose. He had some quirks and mystery behind his well-developed character which I liked reading about and would love to read more into his story. Also, I became quite fond of Nirmayi. It was difficult to figure out whether or not you could trust her at times, but I liked that element to her character because it kept the mystery and a lot of questions were popping up about her and her actions in my head. Unfortunately, we didn't see as much of Laura as I would have hoped to have read about. I really enjoyed learning about her in Sentient and thought that was going to be the start of giving her a bigger part in the final instalment.
I thought Keepers had the perfect balance of action, fast paced scenes, and likeable characters to finish off the incredible series with. Although I really enjoyed the first book, Aversion, I would have to say this is probably my favourite book from The Mentalist Series. I love Udogu's writing throughout the book and think she did a great job with wrapping up the finale as it leaves you knowing a lot but also wondering what they might face in the future. I would love to read more about the future Gemma with her family and friends.
I'd definitely recommend this series to fans of young adult, mystery, paranormal, action genres. I would rate the entire series overall with four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
