The Quarry Girls by Jess Lourey

5.0

gut wrenching

This story is a pure kick in the gut, elbow to your nose, tears streaming down your eyes, twisting and turning, never knowing which way is up…kinda story. It’s heartbreaking to think that this story was molded/inspired by a true story that innocent little girls lived and died through and that no one has ever been found responsible for the loss of their lives. Jess Lourey did a great job sucking you directly into the story and giving heart stopping moments where you truly felt like you were experiencing everything the girls were going through. It’s tough when some of their key moments bear such similarities to things you were forced to experience in your own open field sprint from girl to women.
