Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West

3.0

This was a twisty one! I was totally fine with the ending two chapters before the ending!!! I literally was already writing my review for this book praising how bold of a move it was for Kasie West to let her main character get together with no one, but then... ARRG!
I mean if I wasn´t from the beginning against this ship because I really didn´t like Cooper at all, I might have been in love with this book. I liked Lacy a lot, I am and will always be a huge fan of West´s writing and way of storytelling, but man, I really hate the best-friends-to-lovers-trope.
Additionally, I wasn´t feeling the heart-list either... It reminded me a bit of [b:Since You've Been Gone|18189606|Since You've Been Gone|Morgan Matson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1377702326s/18189606.jpg|25591533]. A book I also didn´t like so much. In some ways it was done cool, eg I really liked the making of the list and the ideas behind some of the quests, but all in all, it seemed too obvious if that makes sense. Total frustration also came from my hopes for an Abliot-ship to sail. (Now it sounds stupid, but at least for the first half I was constantly checking the page number to assure myself there was still enough time for them to make it.)
What I did like was the sub-plot surrounding her mother and the art gallery. It was done in West´s typical, realistic and relatable way with little hints of important messages, that I just love.

I´m now really looking forward to [b:Listen to Your Heart|36127456|Listen to Your Heart|Kasie West|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1507130050s/36127456.jpg|56429658]. The story sounds much more my cup of tea than this one did.
