The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I’m not mad at this book. I do understand why readers are upset. I personally am not bothered by the romance situation even though I’m very confused. I don’t know where this is going and I feel like the whole time poppy is figuring out her feelings we never get answers. Poppy and Cas still seem like a normal couple and then Kieran is sometimes there which doesn’t feel fair.

As I’ve said before, I need to know more about Kieran. He’s become a staple character but I still feel like I don’t know much about him. And now he’s added to the romance element and we still don’t have much of him. Casteel seems fine with poppy and Kieran’s attraction but nothing is ever really said. I’m not super mad at the situation but I would like answers and to know the purpose of it. I do see how people are upset since we’ve had this entire series of poppy and Cas and their love being one of a kind and now there’s a third? That can be frustrating, like I said I’m not mad but I also kind of saw this coming from TCOGB so I wasn’t blindsided.

My main complaint is it took me half the book to finally get into. The first half of the book I wasn’t really into. It felt like the whole purpose of it was for poppy and Kieran to realize their attraction to one another. The first half was a bit of a drag until casteel came back.

Im still going to read this series, I do enjoy the characters and the story. I do hope there’s more of the side characters next book because that was definitely missing from this book. I think that’s why it dragged for me because I needed more of the group scenes we had in TCOGB. Im intrigued to see where this goes.
