It is hard to swallow the cultural clashes between our main characters and the Indian characters at times, but the message of mutual respect and examining one’s privilege is strong. Plus we get some more insight into our main characters.
Graphic: Hate crime, Racism, Violence, Xenophobia, Blood, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Child abuse, Grief, and Classism
Minor: Child death, Cursing, Drug use, Sexual content, Police brutality, and Trafficking
Be aware that there are depictions of blackmail, cultural clashing, Indian-targeted bigotry, a child being kept in a cage, and near execution by hanging.
