something i am noticing as im reading this author’s work is that i always seem to fall so in love with her settings — the overall aesthetic and vibe are always delicious, and tend to become one of my favorite parts of each book. i flew through this one just as i did the first julian novel. very similar to how i rated julian, the atmosphere is wonderful, but 3 stars because the plot felt a bit thin, and cora kind of annoyed me. enjoying this idea of the villain romance so far — that the redemption isn’t exactly what we’re expecting.
