A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen

4.0

This book I could not put down. I felt the anger, frustration, fear and grief as I watched their family be ripped apart by the Berlin Wall. It was an insightful historical fiction that showed what life was like for those living in east Germany. Thoughts confined to your own mind, freedom stripped through certain foods, books and even a curfew. My favourite part was actually the connection built between Gerta and her brother. The ending had me on the end of my seat!! I have ONE piece of criticism and that was the end felt so cut off. It all happened so quickly and then that was it. It was done. But I still loved it. I have it 4 stars which is a great book in my eyes!! Wish I read it sooner!
