Tapping the Billionaire by Max Monroe

3.0

I enjoyed this, but only just. The end had me a little stumped to be honest, and personally this wasn’t a laugh out loud book for me (there were funny bits, but I was never cackling).

Spoiler
So my main issue was definitely the ending.

For the most part this book is pretty unbelievable. Billionaire (has over 3 billion) in his 30s only has serious relationships, his apartment is pretty normal he doesn’t own a car and his second home is a reno he’s doing for his parents. He also notices Georgia after two years of not noticing her at all in terms of what she looks like and instantly can’t stay away from her.

She’s a 26 year old virgin who is described as hot or sexy by every guy who sees her after they start dating. She’s been waiting until she found the right guy, their second ‘date’ is a weekend away where she realises she trusts him so much she wants to lose it. She legit doesn’t know this guy at all. She knows how he runs a business but they’ve never talked about anything BUT business.

Everything else, whatever. There was some great bits, and I liked that he put an end to things when she wasn’t in her right mind from the Benadryl. I did think he was a little too ‘perfect’, even when a potential flaw surfaced it wasn’t real. It was dumb.

But what got me the most is she’s FUMING. Storms into his office, he shows her a video of him knowing it was her so their fight was pointless and INSTANTLY she goes from enraged to accepting a proposal. No real confusion or annoyance that he didn’t say anything sooner or he hadn’t called or turned up to see her. No she’s so happy he loves her she doesn’t care anymore. It was dumb.

And this book didn’t need to be this long. Can’t decide if I hate or like that it was like an ad or lead up to I guess for all the other series this author had set up. (Now that they’re out it was very clear to me - st Luke’s and mavericks).

I’m not 100% about continuing but I think I’ll try it and see (those two got on my nerves a little, they’re quite over the top)
