I finished the whole first volume in 1 day and now on to the 2nd one. I LOVE this series. I can tell that this series took inspiration from Stranger Things, It, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Goonies, and any other 80s action sci-fi movie with kids that you can think of. The color scheme of the art in this series is so gorgeous to look at. I love the characters (for the most part). It's awesome that these paper girls are all such a strong group of young ladies that learn to work together to take down these otherworldly mysteries terrifying their town. I love that theme is all about growing up and trying to adapt to reality.
If you love Stranger Things and ET, I'd recommend reading this comic book series. It is so much fun. If you want to feel nostalgia, read this series while listening to 80s ambient music on YouTube. Trust me; it will bring the comic series to life.
I can't wait to see what Vol. 2 has in-store.
