Visually stunning, an interesting if overdone basic premise, interesting world - but holy smokes is it crude/graphic/vulgar for really no reason. It's not likely I'll continue- I'd like to know more about Hazel and what goes on in general, but the peripheral content isn't worth wading through to me to find out. (Please note this is a matter of personal preference; it's good writing, it's just not for me. 2 stars reflect just how basic the premise is and how much time is devoted to shock factor instead of furthering the plot.)
Graphic: Body horror, Death, Drug use, Fatphobia, Gore, Gun violence, Hate crime, Racial slurs, Racism, Rape, Sexual assault, Sexual content, Slavery, Violence, Xenophobia, Blood, Grief, Death of parent, Murder, Pregnancy, War, and Injury/Injury detail
