The Outsider by Stephen King
Did not finish book.
I plan on returning to this later. The thematic thread of misinformation eroding if not outright destroying a wide array of important aspects of life, such as trust in the community, due process, and institutional respect, was a bit too raw to read while I was living in the depths of the Trump administration.
Graphic: Child death and Child abuse
The crux of the book is a graphic rape and murder case of a child. It’s treated with respect, but it’s also horrific and graphic. One of the first scenes is a transcript of someone finding the body. Viewer discretion is advised.
