I haven't read sci-fi for a long time, so I don't remember if this is a thing, but the use of modern slang greatly annoyed me. And their standoffish snarky attitude. Practically every character: Look at me, I'm so badass and edgy. I curse and destroy shit. Being kind and gentle is for the weak. Sona and Eris, additionally: I'm so angry, destroy Godolia. I want revenge.
I was so confused when Sona and Victoria started kissing. 🤨
The worldbuilding was weak and made no sense. Who were the Zenith? Why is Godolia terrorizing with the windups? What is the point? Found family? You mean an annoying bunch of kids.
