China Dolls by Lisa See

3.0

This was sweet and I really love Lisa See's writing, but the book overall suffered from a lack of pacing. Maybe she was trying to cover too much ground, but it seemed that the ending was rushed after spending too much time focused on the main characters' careers building. I also would have preferred to have spent more time with Ruby after she was detained, and thought the secret of who turned her in was drawn out when it was clear who that was from the start for me. Still glad I read.
