I really enjoyed this book for the most part. I loved the juxtaposition between types of families and the development of the younger characters as they began to gain new experiences. However, I was really expecting a good catharsis at the end, and I just didn't really get one. This book begins with (spoiler for the first ten pages) . A lot of emotional tension was built up through the story, and I wish we had heard more about the final thoughts of some of the characters. Some of the openness of the ending was much appreciated, but some threads were left a bit too loose for my taste.
