i have rarely attached myself to characters this fast and this easily. i surprised myself by going back again and again to read and finish this book, it wasn’t a huge need that i felt deep like in a mystery but i felt pulled again and again to Shannon and Johnny and to read their story. The flaws, the emotions, the chemistry of the characters made it all worthwhile and i will start the second one immediately
the whole thing about shannon’s dad being abusive and her relationship with her brother Joey was so bittersweet because you hear about Joey from shannon and you can see that they care about each other and that they are willing to fight to the death for each other. the whole final chapter with the little brothers coming to the rescue of shannon and the children finally fighting for themselves felt so damn sad but rewarding in a way like yeah come on fight for yourselves !!! the tension between shannon and johnny was so good and when they finally kissed in the locker room after like 750 pages it felt soooo rewarding like yeah i watched them become this ! and finally i have to say that i definitely have a type : the fun golden retriever energy boy which in here is Gibsie… damn i love you Gibs <3
