It started back in 1947 when an unidentified craft crashed near Roswell, New Mexico, with no survivors. The military caravan transporting the debris and remains, forced to pull over to wait out a sandstorm, is ambushed, everyone murdered.

In the present day there is an encounter between the USS Carl Vinson and two UFOs that take down the military jets sent to check them out.

I wanted so much to enjoy this book. It sounded like the type of book that fascinates me: UFOs, military and science mixed together, science fiction. The prologue was a decent teaser. However, despite the action in the first chapter, I couldn't get into the story.

I struggled on, tried flipping ahead hoping something would click and get me interested enough to continue reading. I wanted to add this series to my other favorites: David Weber's Honor Harrington series and James Rollins' Sigma Force series, among others. Sadly it wasn't to be. DNF
