Blood Debts by Terry J. Benton-Walker

3.0

It’s sad that what could have been didn’t happen.

An interesting magic system with multiple families and their histories all intertwined with so many issues; growing up and discovery, death, drugs, racism and rape to name a few.

The book gets convoluted with filler when it could have worked on more of its many plots. The characters felt underdeveloped and most plot lines not fleshed out as much as it could have been.

The romances were not required for the main story arc although I must admit the Clem and Jean Louise cliffhanger saved the book as a whole.
