Leave the Grave Green by Deborah Crombie

4.0

One of the more personally important books in the series as it establishes firmly the affection that the two main characters have for one another. It’s kind of trippy reading these once more as I know where the couple is destined to go so the threat at the end rings hollow. But I imagine at the time I first read it, it must have been heartbreaking.

As for the mystery, it was pretty good. The red herrings especially were well-executed. It proves another terrible tale perpetrated by folks more intent on assuaging their own shame and guilt rather than do the right thing.
