Flowerbed of State by Dorothy St. James

3.0

Not a bad start to a series. I found the main character to be stupidly naive in the first third of the book, but that silliness gave way to a more mature character and in a first book, I get over that pretty quick. I liked the plot, although I guessed the bad guy from the start. The setting was interesting and I think the secondary characters could become likeable in future books. The hint of a romance is interesting as well.
