If there’s one thing that brings me immense joy it’s reading a book by Meghan Quinn, the cherry on top being a HOCKEY ROMANCE! We’re back with more of the Vancouver Agitators! This time with Silas Tater, and Ollie Owens. With fake dating, age gap, hockey, hilarious moments, romance, our favorite characters from the previous two books, and spice up the wazoo! There were so many thing this book had me foaming at the mouth to read right away! (*note: didn’t actually foam at the mouth, just being dramatic in expressing how excited I was to read this lol).

Based on the previous two books in the series, Silas was coming off a bad breakup with his high school sweetheart, but I didn’t know exactly what went down… until the prologue explained what happened. If there’s one thing (among many insults) about Silas’s ex girlfriend is that, she was trash, and didn’t deserve Silas at all. Now, imagine the shock when Silas and his fellow besties/ teammates found out that Sarah, Silas’s ex got a job working for the Agitators, yeah that was a recipe for disaster. Meanwhile, Ollie a young college student was just faced with the least promising topic for her journalism internship assignment which was all about hockey, given to her be her arch nemesis, Candace. To make matters even worse, Candace was apparently dating Ollie’s ex boyfriend. Now, Ollie trying to save face in front of Candace and her ex, she came up with the “genius” idea to say she had a boyfriend… next thing you know Ollie is strolling up to Silas, not knowing who he is, asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend, bam! Kisses him! What a way to meet someone for the first time right?

Right away I was loving this story! Ollie was sassy, strong, funny, and despite being young, she wasn’t what you would expect from a twenty one year old. Ollie was still fun like any twenty something year old, but she also had this level of determination and motivation especially when it came to wanting to do good in her internship as well as making plans post college. Silas was a mix of grumpy, also strong, had great banter with Ollie, and many more wonderful attributes to him. Ollie and Silas had great chemistry together, and from the beginning they had a natural relationship. I especially enjoyed the hilarious moments from Ollie deviating on their “meet cute” story which was absolutely bonkers! Haha. Just like in Meghan Quinn fashion, I had my fair shared of laugh through out the story.

As per usual, when it comes to fake dating, there’s always an agreement to be made, and the way Ollie and Silas came up with theirs made sure to be mutually beneficial for each individual. Even when they were in fake dating mode, I was smirking and enjoying the way Silas was with Ollie such as, saying things like, “if you were my girl, I would do…” Silas may have been pretending to be a good boyfriend, but that man had no problem slipping behind Ollie wrapping her in his arms, kissing her neck, calling her loving nicknames IN ORDER TO STAKE HIS CLAIM ON HIS WOMAN! WOO! THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT! The fake dating trope hit when the man gets possessive and gets me so giddy! Also can we take a moment of appreciation for Ollie being a straight up Queen and boss for totally shutting up Sarah?! OMG! Ollie made sure to shut Sarah up with her quick response and I loved Ollie even more for it! What a boss!

Silas had his own baggage to deal with especially since Sarah ruined his ability to fully trust others so with Ollie, he himself opening up to her little by little. Even Ollie who didn’t have the best relationship with her ex way back found herself feeling comfortable and safe around Silas which, made me happy for her. In a way through the fake dating, both Ollie and Silas not only found solace in each other, but also friendship. Alongside the fake dating trope, it kind of felt like friends to lovers since Ollie and Silas’s dynamic gave off friend vibes, especially with the way they were able to play around with each other. Having both of them experienced a not so happy previous relationship, them being together started off as a business proposition, but later got deeper with the more time spent together.

The tension between Ollie and Silas was DELICIOUS! OMG! When Ollie took matters into her own hands by teasing Silas to then Silas doing the same to her! Have mercy! With all the tension that was happening, it created some of the best tension I had read with some jealousy on part from Silas that was delectable. Ollie pushing Silas to the edge, and ultimately created some spicy, steamy, hotness, I was getting hot over! WOO! The spice in this book was fantastic, and let me just say… if you don’t know what a Jacob’s ladder is… Silas will let you know what it is… as I’m sure Ollie saw, and BOY DID SHE LOVE IT! Quick side note, I had read another book of Meghan’s called, “Put Me In Detention”, and the main guy in that book also had a Jacob’s Ladder, and little old me didn’t know so, I looked it up, and… let’s just say Meghan Quinn opened my eyes to a whole lotta of something! So yeah with Silas being dominant, commanding, DIRTY TALKER, yet also ensuing Ollie’s pleasure at all times, WOOOOOOOO SPICE WAS THROUGHLY ENJOYABLE AND HOT AF! Lots of communication and exploring each other was great for both Silas and Ollie since they were having the times of their lives in this book! Plus love seeing the sex positivity being represented in this book, and how my girl Ollie was vocal what she did like in the bedroom! You go girl!

MEGHAN! YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN WITH ANOTHER PHENOMENAL STORY! I absolutely adore, loved, and cherished Ollie and Silas. I had a feeling this book was going to fantastic, and obviously fell in love with everything! Silas was the one character I didn’t know much about when he was featured in the previous two books, but learning about him, and what led to his breakup was heartbreaking for him, but it led him on the path to meeting Ollie. Ollie was so vivacious, sassy, no filter whatsoever, strong, mature for her age, and all kinds of fun. Seeing the rest of the guys such as, Pacey, Posey, Hornsby, and Holmes was great as I genuinely love the friendship all the men have together. I’m still waiting for my man’s Holmes’s book! Also great cameos from some other beloved characters such as, the Cane brothers ; Huxley, JP, Breaker, as well as Ryot Bisley from, “Untying The Knot”. I liked how the fake dating played out, as well as how Ollie and Silas had a great friendship before becoming lovers. YOU GUYS THE SPICE WAS FREAKING BOMB! All I gotta say is, Jacob’s Ladder for the win! Silas and Ollie had wonderful chemistry, they were so loving with one another, down right dirty from the dirty talk to the constant need to have each other, all of it was hot! There was great humor as Meghan always does amazingly in her stories. I love a hockey romance and this was yet another reason why I love sports romance, but also contemplating dating a hockey man myself *wink, wink. All to say, this is an absolute must read! Anything by Meghan Quinn is a solid five stars and above for me! I loved seeing Ollie and Silas’s story play out, and with the epilogue I was happy to see that everything worked out for Ollie and Silas living their best lives together, in a new chapter in their relationship! YAY FOR OLLIE AND SILAS! WOO!
