Only When It's Us by Chloe Liese

5.0

So I had to follow up a mediocre romance book with one I knew would be fantastic, and per usual Chloe Liese did not disappoint! In a really rare event for my OCD self, I’ve actually read this series backwards, and I really can’t decide how to rate them because they are all wonderful!! Everything is 5 stars, but I’ve liked some more than others, so I’m trying to notate what stood out in each one.

I think in this one I really loved the characters breaking down their walls and embracing vulnerability. It felt less trope-y and more true, which is what I’ve come to appreciate most about these stories. It’s almost like the author is giving us applicable metaphors to examine our own relationships without making it preachy, and still keeping it fun and funny throughout.

This was a definition of a slow burn, which usually annoys me to no end but it actually what I loved most about this! I’m excited to have more to read (in order this time!) and to hang out more with my favorite fictional family!
