Crocheting Adventures with Hyperbolic Planes: Tactile Mathematics, Art and Craft for All to Explore, Second Edition by Daina Taimina

challenging informative inspiring slow-paced

4.5

This book was a wonderful rabbit hole in between the difficulty of YouTube and Wikipedia. It helped me to start by watching crochet coral tutorials on YouTube, so I wasn't afraid to be less precise than Dr. Tamina advised in chapter 1. Thanks to my girlfriend teaching me crochet, I was able to finish my first crochet project pictured below. Wikipedia was also easier to read after each chapter, so reading this book can awaken the recreational mathematician inside everyone.
(I'm sure that's why there's so many videos and wikis linked to this book!)
