I find the decription of the different species has a very body shaming tone, there is a difference between "good and intelligent people" and "bad and animalistic ones" in a way I am very uncomfortable with.

the description of the fury fits into old bad sterotypes about gender and power dynamics and how this matriachty where women are horrible monster who abuse men-idea was used to deny real complaines about sexism. the story about an orphan who never felt home and then finds his birth family at the end is not only clichee but also something I am not very interested in, as a queer person i am all about found families so it just annoyed me
