The Ax, by Donald E. Westlake

4.0

"And now, I have shopping to do. If you want to kill somebody, you can find everything you need for the job down at the mall."
I had no idea what to expect coming into this one, but it ended up being delightfully, darkly funny, in just the sort of way I like. I guess you could call it a satire of developing a serial killer character? That's as close as I can get to its tone, but whatever you'd call it, it's quite entertaining.
