Sinful Cinderella by Anita Valle

3.0

Wow! This book pleasantly surprised me with the twist it put on Cinderella's tale. I defiantly think this is more of a 3.5 stars then just a three because I did really enjoy this book.

One thing I liked about this book is how it presents Cinderella. She has had a not so great life and gets no love from her Stepmother and Stepsisters, and anyone in her situation would become less happy and loving. I loved that this story showed a more realistic Cinderella. I also really enjoyed the way she felt about her father. She still kept that love for him, until the end that is.

There is also one part during the ball when Cinderella talks to her stepsister and realizes that she actually cares for her, I found this part very touching. Though I would have loved to see them grow from this, the end did pleasantly surprise me and I was pretty happy with it for the most part.

I loved what the author did with twisting the prince the way she did. He is not this amazingly sweet prince. He's an abusive, evil man who murdered his first wife. I was rather surprised with this element and enjoyed it.

Most of all the Snow White twist is what I enjoyed the most. I think the author did a great job in setting it up and combining the two stories in the way that she did. I really enjoyed the whole Cinderella being the Evil Queen aspect and the way she went about it seemed very real.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Though I do not think it is the most amazing book ever, I defiantly did love this twisted retelling of Cinderella and I would defiantly recommend this book for anyone who is into a twisted fairy tale retelling.
