Wife by Wednesday by Catherine Bybee

5.0

Blake thanks to his father is being forced into a marriage by his 36th birthday to avoid losing his inheritance as well as being a duke. He doesn’t want a real wife because he doesn’t want someone who is after his money but instead a contract. So he seeks out Sam who runs a successful business pairing up people for marriages of convenience as well as companionship. Surprised to find that Sam is a woman not a man that he expected and knows a lot more than he expected her to. Sam sends three different potential matches at Blake but it’s Sam who’s caught his attention.

When it comes time to make his selection Sam is shocked to learn that he wants her to be his wife for the next year as he claims his inheritances. Blake has done the research so when it comes time to give her an offer it’s way too good to pass up and Sam has to accept. The plan is for both of them to not get attached, spend just the required time together while Blake is in Europe and Sam in California. After a whirlwind wedding, Blake takes off for work but Sam finds that she’s being watched which forces her into Blake’s arms. The more time they spend together the harder it is to deny the attraction so they find themselves agreeing to just go with it for the year. What will happen at the end of the year?

I like both Sam and Blake they both didn’t expect to fall for the other but after it’s hard to deny the chemistry between the two of them. It just really works even if the marriage started out as a convenience one it proved to be exactly what they both were missing in their lives. I like that both characters each have their own tortured pasts but they proved that they aren’t what defines them. I also love the sweet honest relationship that they have built for themselves.

I’ve been in a reading funk and thought a marriage of convenience would be the perfect concept to pull me out of my funk. Wife by Wednesday was exactly what I needed to get me back in the reading groove it’s a beautifully written enchanting HAE story. I admit I’m kind of a sucker for a couple who gets married without the intention of romance but find themselves falling in love. The characters are perfectly matched for each other it’s hard to not find myself connecting with each of them. I truly enjoyed every page of Wife by Wednesday it’s an amazing story that captured my heart as well as my imagination. I really enjoyed the authors writing style it’s smooth and easy to get lost in Blake and Sam’s story. This is my first novel by the author but I plan to read many more of her books starting with the next in the series. Highly recommend romance fans check it out.
