Memoirs of a Porcupine by Alain Mabanckou
5.0
These are the literary confessions of Porcupine who used to be an harmful animal double of his human master. The erudite, and caustic, porcupine tells the sorry tale of his existance for the Baobab tree, and he is a very entertaining narrator of the weird and wonderful/macabre goings on in the village. The book deals with some pretty big and dark subject matters, but with a light touch that still leaves you pondering them long after the book was put done.
