This is a military based new series that Livia Grant gives us. If you're acquainted with her Black Light books, Call Sign : Thunder gives us our first rodeo into Ryder Helm's mercenary company.
An "accidental" rescue mission brings Allie and Zach together but they have a lot of obstacles to overcome : an overprotective father, a bit of age/gap, a definite social and money gap, and, what is the principal trope of that book in my mind, the "hero-worship" syndrom.
With a subtle touch, the author gives enough depth in her characters and enough action in the story to make that book an absolute page-turner.
