Dune by Frank Herbert

5.0

I can't believe I've never read this book before. My copy, the 40th Anniversary Edition, says Dune is a Science Fiction Supreme Masterpiece, and I must say I agree. My only real complaints are that the sort of omniscient narration sometimes became a bit tiring to read, and that Herbert used the word "presently" WAY too often. Aside from that, the story was an utterly amazing read. Loved all the philosophical musing, especially the Muad'Dib quotes at the beginnings of the chapters. I'm not sure if I'll read any other books in the series right away or not, but I would definitely recommend Dune to anyone.
