The Hathorians have long ago been conquered by the Anhur. Hathorian males are used as amusement and entertainment for Anhur Queens and other such nobles. Hathorian females have been gradually turned into breeders for Hathorian males, their offspring being hybrids that are raised to be warriors and nothing more. This is a story of one Hathorian female who is accused of deceit and betrayal after her matron is found to have been giving her an herbal concoction that prevents pregnancy. Though the Hathorian female had nothing to do with such betrayal to her station, she is punished by being banished from the harem and given to the guards to use at their leisure. After suffering abuse and disfigurement, the female manages to escape to the beyond (forest) where dangers lurk around every tree, a virus threatens to take hold, and she is forced to endure the full effects of going into heat without the natural suppressant that she had been given to make her cycle bearable. Understand, that if you came here for an expansive story, you came to the wrong place. The story is there, yes, but it's not a deep one thus far. However, if you are a reader with certain kinks that may be a little out of the norm, this book might interest you. What this book does do, it does it really well! Sometimes that's all the honesty and story you need or all the story you're seeking and there is nothing wrong with that! It definitely made for an interesting shift at work! Four stars just for being what it is.
