I didn’t know what to expect from this since I never saw the movie or read a synopsis. The style of writing is very different than what I’m used to, but I really takes you back into that time. I liked the fact that the story is told through the diary of Nick Carraway, but it also confused the timeline at some points. The story is short and intriguing and tells you just enough for a full story. I don’t think I’d necessarily read anything else from Fitzgerald but I am glad I read this. If you like a short story about an insanely rich, but tortured, man then this is the story for you.
