Miss Memory Lane is an open, honest, raw accounting of Colton’s life from childhood until present day. He included all of the dark and all of the happy moments in his life.
This book gutted me!!! I bounced between reading and listening to the audio book narrated by Colton himself. Traveling through Colton’s life lead to an even deeper appreciation of him. Hearing him telling his story about growing up and all of the things he experienced just killed me. As hard as it is to be a closeted gay man and coming out, Colton experienced this without much if any support. He survived grooming, molestation, drug abuse, and family that was battling their own demons. His story of his coming out in Hollywood brought up so many memories of my coming out, while no where near as harrowing. What I appreciated most about this book was not just Colton’s openness, but his willingness to own his choices and not blame anyone. This was not a “finger pointing” session. @coltonhaynes if no one has told you they are proud of you for opening up in this book, I’m proud of you. You are an amazing human!
